Hello all

Apologies for irritating “jump on thread” thing - but the project I mentioned last week where Jim Richardson and I are going to be gathering some tools / interviews with museum marketing people now has a website / mailing list / call to action:

https://marketingformuseums.com/ and on Twitter: https://twitter.com/museummarketing

Not much content-wise there yet but we’re gathering names of people to interview about good practice and writing lots of stuff..

…may be relevant :-)

cheers

Mike

Hi Kate,

Our very own Hazel Saunderson has blogged about the NMS approach to Facebook Lives which may help https://blog.nms.ac.uk/2016/11/21/museum-experiments-with-facebook-live-video/

Subject: Digital comms and twitter/instagram greatness

Dear all,

I'm working with a heritage professionals' organisation which is looking to make its digital comms and social media more organised and more lively, and I'm hoping to pick your brains:

i. How have you approached writing a brief-not-enormous comms plan (if anyone is willing to share in confidence offlist, I would be very grateful)

and

ii. Can you suggest egs of social media greatness. I know all about a certain very square sheep, love @natlibscot and have read Russell Dornan and the Wellcome Collection's approaches with interest - but what else is out there that you rate?

iii. Has anyone done a Facebook Live, and could you suggest thoughts/equipment/planning that we should have in mind to do this well?

Thanks as ever,

Kate
