Re-openned Call for Bids: ECIR 2020
========================
The BCS-IRSG Committee is interested to hear from bidders who wish
to organize the European Conference on Information Retrieval 2020
(ECIR 2020) in a European country. This will be the 42nd edition of
the conference.
ECIR 2019 is to be held in Cologne, Germany. Recent ECIR events have
been held in Grenoble, France, 2018; Aberdeen, UK, 2017; Padua,
Italy, 2016, Vienna, Austria, 2015; Amsterdam, The Netherlands,
2014; Moscow, Russia, 2013;
Barcelona, Spain, 2012; Dublin, Ireland, 2011; and Milton
Keynes, UK, 2010.
A call for proposals was originally circulated earlier in the
summer, with a deadline of 17th of August. However no acceptable bid
was received by the deadline. The committee have therefore decided
to re-open the bidding process both to revised bids by those who
submitted bids or expressions of interest previously and to any new
bidders who wish to be considered.
