Hi all,
I may be going over well-trodden ground here but, with the new start of term, I’m sorry to say we’ve had a dip in upcoming school bookings. Has anyone else experienced had a similar experience and would you
be able to share any advice?
In terms of my own action I have so far/am in the process of:
-
Sending special offers to our Education mailing list (“book now for 20%” etc)
-
Organising a free teacher open evening with partner STEM Learning
-
Contacted previous bookers for a feedback as to why they have not booked a repeat visit. This has yielded some interesting results ranging from funding cuts to email addresses bouncing back (this
leads on to a whole separate issue of trying to maintain contact with a school when your personal contact leaves!)
Other options I’m considering:
-
Doing a leaflet run to local schools; has anyone done this and found a good way to go about it?
-
Biting the bullet and submitting an advertisement in a schools trip publication. I actually sent a mailer round about this subject a couple of months ago and the general consensus was that they are
not really worth-while. However I’m struggling to think of alternatives!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I will of course share results back. Thanks very much, best wishes Rebecca
