Positions open: Postdoctoral researchers, visiting scholars, and PhD students

The MR center at the Department of Radiology, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University invites highly motivated applicants for three different opening positions:  postdoctoral researcher, visiting scholar, and PhD student.  The two post-doc positions will be fully paid by NIH grants.  PhD program applicants with GPA>3 will have a high chance to get full scholarship from the University. Otherwise they will be paid from internal or external research grants.

The center has a research dedicated Siemens 3T MR scanner and high performance computing facility including 3 GPU servers. Another research 3T MR scanner (Prisma) is also fully accessible in the main campus of Temple University. The research directions in the center include MR pulse development, image reconstruction, neuroimaging signal processing, and translational studies in Alzheimer’s Disease and drug addiction.

Applicants should have strong background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Biomedical Engineering. Post-doc and visiting scholars must have an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in one of these fields. Ideal candidates for the post-doc positions should have  experience in one of the following categories: 1) fMRI, structural MRI including diffusion MRI data processing using one the mainframe software packages (FSL, SPM, FreeSurfer etc), 2) MR pulse programming, 3) image reconstruction, 4) machine learning including deep learning. Skills with C/C++ will be optional but Matlab or Python experience will be the minimum. The candidates are also expected to have good communication and writing skills. Knowledge about longitudinal analysis will be a plus for the fMRI related position. Post-docs will have a high potential of career development in the center which is expected to expand in the next few years. PhD program applicants will be housed in the Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering, School of Engineering, Temple University. The center has close collaborations with elite research groups at the University of Pennsylvania which is 15 minutes away in Philadelphia by subway.
