Hi Jackie

They count as Achievers against the level 2 in Proachieve and are included in the overall Achievement and Pass rates.

I think an Ofsted inspector would want a break down by L1 and L2 achievers – it’s the same learning aim for both.

Lorna

Out of interest would the L1 Pass count towards overall pass rates on this qualification?

Thanks

No probs, actually appendix Q (not 2!) – all recorded as outcome 1 and grade distinguishes level (bit like GCSEs)

Hi Sharon

There are a range of grades for these mixed levels in ILR:

L1 for the Level 1 Pass

L2PP for Level 2 Pass

L2DM for Level 2 Distinction Merit

Generally the Level 2 pass has a double grade and the Level 1 just the single grade

Subject: BTEC quals which can be achieved at more than one level

Hi All

Looking for some advice.

If you have a student enrolled to a BTEC qual which can be achieved at more than one level do you record it as a pass or a fail if they are enrolled to the higher level but only achieve the lower level.

For example, we have a student enrolled to PEARSON EDEXCEL Level 2 FIRST EXTENDED CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION & CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY, but he has only achieved at Level 1. He will get a L1 certificate so can we record this as a pass/overall achieved or would it be a fail as he hasn’t reached the level 2 which he was enrolled to.

Thanks in advance

Sharon
