Dear Zohar and others,

There is one example of male chicken buried in a pot as far North as
Finland, dating to local Late Iron Age (11-12th century). Published so far
only in Finnish I am afraid:

Bläuer, Auli & Hukantaival, Sonja 2013. Erikoisia kanalöytöjä rautakauden
Pirkkalasta: uhrikukko ja Nilkku-Lotta. Suomalaisen maatiaiskanan
säilytysohjelman tiedote 1/2013.

Best wishes,

Auli
