Keep the person to be followed in distance, near vanishing point. Make the walk, if a group walk, a silent one. I noticed when following someone at vanishing point that the my situational awareness gets more intense.

Hello Walking Artists,

Do any of you use following people as artistic method / approach to negotiating the city? If so, would you be prepared for a quick chat about it (on the phone, in person or by email) for an article I'm writing? Email me at dejakay at gmail.com or at reimaginingthecity at gmail.com for more details.

I've also done some work on following for the Demolition Project so it would be great to hear what you think about the ethics/politics, difficulties and joys of walking round in someone's else's shadow.

Thanks!
