I am the president of an Edinburgh
University EUSA society called InterSci,
and we focus on encouraging conversations about science. InterSci are hosting an event called World of Plastics during the Midlothian Science Festival and
we are looking for scientists interested in hosting an activity/table showcasing their work and sharing their knowledge.
The Midlothian Science Festival is a two-week long science festival across the
whole of Midlothian during October and their aim is to create a festival programme that is innovative, bold and full of events & activities. Our activity will take place at Edinburgh Midlothian
College on Monday 8th October at 10am-2pm.
InterScis world
of plastics event will be a gala day populated by tabletop and drop-in activities focusing on 3 main activity sections:
1.
Alternatives to plastics
2.
The impact of plastics on the environment
3.
Scientific research to combat the global plastics problem
This is a great opportunity to showcase research in Edinburgh and
give researchers a chance to engage with the public. We are happy for researchers to offer something tried and tested
but if they haven't got an activity in mind we are available to help develop an idea and co-create the activity to try out something new.
