**Deadline for Abstracts for SUSDG is extended to the deadline for registration (17th August 2018) **

Dear All,

Just a final reminder that the deadline for abstracts of all presentations for the SUSDG Annual Meeting 2018 is extended to the deadline on the 17th August. The deadline for registration is also 17th August. The presentation length will be 20 mins + 5 mins for questions.

Southern Universities Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group Meeting 2018:

The 2018 meeting of the Southern Universities Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group (SUSDG) will be convened at Cardiff University across the Thursday 23rd-Friday 24th of August, hosted by the Beames group. This meeting continues the tradition of providing an opportunity for all young researchers in our field to present a short talk on their work within a friendly atmosphere. Participation is not limited to the Southern Universities. The programme will foster interaction with students and postdocs. Senior academics are welcome to attend. Given the student focus of this meeting, we aim to accept all student and postdoc talks. There will be an informal conference dinner on the Thursday evening, and a tour of Cardiff Castle will be arranged should there be enough interest.

Location and accommodation:
The meeting will be hosted by the School of Chemistry, in the Main Building of Cardiff University. Accommodation is available through this link [https://bookaccommodation.cardiff.ac.uk/SUSDGM18.bnb], at a rate of £34.17 per night, including breakfast. The University is located just a short walk from Cardiff city centre, and is across the road from Cathays train station. Accommodation about a 15 minute walk from conference location. Directions and travel advice for getting to the University can be found here.

Registration:
Registration is separate from the accommodation booking and is £40. Registration is open and includes access to the scientific and social programme, as well as the dinner on the Thursday night and lunch on the Friday. Payment can be made by bank transfer, or any individual can be invoiced from the University. The bank details are at the bottom of this email. Please ensure you include KC2010N007 as the reference. Should you require an invoice, please contact me, Nathan Watson [[log in to unmask]] directly. Once payment has been completed, please email me to confirm. Registration for the event will close on 17th of August.

Abstracts:
The call for abstracts closes on the 17th of August, and an abstract instruction are below, and is very similar to the template from last year. We aim to accept all abstracts from students and postdocs. Please email abstracts to me, Nathan Watson [[log in to unmask]], prior to this deadline. A programme will be made available shortly after this date. We hope to provide a programme that will run from 2 p.m. on Thursday the 23rd until 4 p.m. on Friday the 24th.

An abstract prepared for the 2018 meeting of the Southern Universities Spectroscopy & Dynamics Group should use 12 pt Times New Roman font and be no more than one A4 page. The abstract should not include any figures. The title, authors and affiliations should centred with the presenting author’s name underlined and their email address provided. The abstract will be considered for acceptance following submission to Nathan Watson[[log in to unmask]], by the 17th of August 2018. This email included the presenting author’s position e.g. student, postdoc, professor, etc.

On behalf of the 2018 SUSDG organising committee we look forward to seeing you here in sunny Cardiff in August.
