DevOps Engineer Location: Cambridge, UK Contract: Permanent Salary: Negotiable, depending on skills & experience 1Spatial have opportunities for DevOps Engineer to join their UK development team. Are you seeking a change or searching for a new challenge? Job Role You will be joining an aggressively growing team working on the core technology of the company’s products and solutions. You will be responsible for working closely with our development and test teams, who work together in a highly collaborative Agile environment focusing on continuous integration and delivery and who are supported by our fully automated test process. You will help build automated deployments using configuration management technology. You will help the support teams in system troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains, as well as suggesting architecture improvements and recommending process improvements. You will also be providing support during various operations such as deployment and general production, to both internal and external customers, often designing, implementing and testing agreed-upon infrastructures. You will help learn about and gather new technologies and related tools to introduce to the company to grow the agile development environment. This will mean collaborating with the whole development team to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices. Required Skills and Experience: Experience with Source Control (e.g. Git, SVN) Experience with automation/configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Ansible) Experience in all aspects of Continuous Integration/Delivery and tools (like Jenkins, TeamCity) Experience of frameworks and scripting languages (e.g. Curl, Python, UNIX Shell scripts, PowerShell) Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Operating Systems: Windows and Linux system administration Experience in build automation and dependency management tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle, Cake Build) Desired Skills and Experience: Curiosity in evaluating and advocating new technology Good communicator, both verbal and written Agile Software Development experience such as Kanban, Scrum Database experience (Oracle, Postgres or Microsoft SQL Server) Experience in Application Server administration (e.g. WebLogic Server, JBoss/WildFly, IIS) Experience in GIS advantageous Experience in application container technology (e.g. Docker) advantageous Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP) Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools What we can offer In return, we can offer you a competitive salary along with: Flexible working hours 25 days annual leave, plus recognition for long service Generous Company Pension Scheme Group Income Protection Scheme Private Health Insurance and Health Cash Plan Cycle to Work Scheme Child Care Vouchers Scheme Weekly hours of 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday Work base in Cambridge Social programme including monthly social gatherings and summer/Christmas parties Free car parking Refreshments including soft drinks and fruit If you would like further information about 1Spatial or the position, please contact our HR department.
