Global Sustainable Development
Permanent Position 

The University of Warwick is seeking applications in the field of Global Sustainable Development with specialisms relating to one or more of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals on Good Health and Well-Being, Gender Equality, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Peace and Justice, or Partnerships for the Goals.  

We are a successful and collegial team of academics delivering cutting-edge research, innovative interdisciplinary teaching, and outstanding student support, and we are looking for an ambitious academic who believes in the value of research as a tool for tackling issues of global significance, and who can demonstrate a commitment to collaborative, trans-disciplinary research, teaching and learning. We hope to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate educator who uses their knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies to contribute to our dynamic, innovative and engaging curriculum. 

The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher, teacher and communicator with a sound subject knowledge and a growing research profile, able to stimulate and enthuse students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and with a desire to respond meaningfully to the challenges faced by contemporary society and promote positive changes to secure a sustainable future. For this particular appointment we welcome applicants with experience of working with large data sets, with a focus on sustainable development.

JOB PURPOSE 

To develop and undertake a programme of research within own specialist area leading to the publication and dissemination of findings which contribute to the body of scholarly research within the field of Global Sustainable Development, and which enhance the reputation of the University in this field at a national/international level. 

To develop and deliver modules within own area of expertise that enrich the existing academic provision of inter–and trans-disciplinary teaching. 

To contribute to the overall content of the Global Sustainable Development degrees through the development and design of appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment materials that utilize a variety of techniques to communicate knowledge and promote understanding.
