Initiative for a NEW COST-Action on
«Aging Workforce and Digitalisation in the Service Sector»
Dear colleagues
“COST” is an European framework supporting transnational cooperation among researchers, engineers and scholars across Europe. One of the networking instruments
of this framework is called “COST Action” (http://www.cost.eu/). Networking tools such as workshops, conferences, training schools, short-term scientific missions and dissemination activities are supported by COST.
The planned new COST-Action on “Aging Workforce and Digitalisation in the Service Sector” wants to study (a) the development of resources and competences
on digitalization and aging workforce in the service sector with a special focus on the «Social and Health» and the «Education» sector. Further, (b) the appearance and development of resources and competences on digitalization and aging workforces in organizations.
The planned network wants to investigate what new challenges in the context of digitalization and aging workforce appear and how they affect human re-sources
and organizational development, vocational and continual education, as well as employability and health in companies and institutions. In more detail the following aims will be reached:
-
Knowledge on forms and dimensions of digitalization in the service sector
-
Knowledge on the development of resources and competences in organizations - public and private companies and institutions – to organize the
digital change and aging workforce
-
The transfer of the new knowledge on digitalization and aging workforce into scientific and professional practice
-
Suggestions and instruments to organize the digital change within aging workforce in organisations are developed on the basis of the newly
gained knowledge
