Here, Alberto Toscano reflects on some of the issues brought up by his presentation, entitled Vision and Division: Reflections on Race, Space and Film, which developed his work on film and visual culture in Cartographies of the Absolute (co-authored with Jeff Kinkle, 2015) by reflecting on visual practices that have addressed the spatial dimensions of racial inequality and domination.
