I helped to run a stand at NERC's 'Into the Blue' event a couple of year's ago (http://intotheblue.nerc.ac.uk). The Valuing Nature exhibition probably isn't relevant but there were plenty of projects there who were engaging families and young people who might be able to help you out. Dear fellow Psci-Commers,
Hope you are all well and enjoying time away from the scorching hot Sun in London.
I am currently collaborating with a not for profit organisation working within conservation (focusing on marine/coastal/river environments) on their process of developing their engagement work. Although I seem to find literature and examples of engagement around conservation more generally easily(-ish) enough (more advice/link to literature/case studies always welcome), I can’t get hold of anything specific to river environments. Therefore here I am!
Does anyone happen to know of papers/articles relevant to public engagement and education with river environments and/or is happy to share case studies? I am particularly keen to hear examples of engagement with young people aged 11-16 , but am always happy to hear of projects engaging audiences of that age group.
