Hi Jo

Was trying to send this from the new email address I’d set up because of changing servers, but of course it was rejected because the psci server didn’t recognise the address. Read on below……

Best wishes

Emma

Hi Jo

This might be to do with a problem I’ve encountered over the past week. Some servers don’t seem to have the right accreditation to distinguish them from servers that are used by robots to send spam. I was finding that almost all of my emails were going straight into people’s spam folders or were being rejected as spam by the recipient server. My IT people had to change me on to a new server to deal with this problem.

Best wishes

Emma

Subject: [PSCI-COM] List admin: bounced emails triggering unsubscription / malware alert

Dear all

I've heard from four people off-list who have found that psci-com has ejected them from the subscribers' list because of apparent problems with their mailbox. This is an automatic process which happens after a number of failed attempts to deliver messages from psci-com to the subscriber (for example if a mailbox is 'full').

The accompanying messages have all referenced a malware alert and I've asked JISC (who host psci-com) to investigate. I'm hoping it's just a generic message / false positive as I'd be surprised if the list was sending out anything iffy (especially as no attachments get through).

Fingers crossed...

I realise that none of the people who've been unsub'd will see this message (for rather obvious reasons) so please share with your colleagues and friends, thanks :)

Puzzled,

Jo

(psci-com owner)
