Dear PSCI COMM,
Biology Week 2018, the week dedicated to celebrating all things biology, kicks off on the 6th of October
of this year.
Last year we saw more than one hundred events take place under the Biology Week banner, and we are always looking to
get more and more people celebrating the life sciences with us.
Already running an event?
If you are running an outreach or engagement event related to biology during that week, let us know so we can
add it to our Biology Week calendar and promote it through our communication channels.
Want to get involved but not sure how?
If you want to plan your own Biology Week event but not sure where to start, we’ve put together some
outreach and engagement toolkits for those new to the field.
The guides are tailored for primary and secondary school teachers, university BioSocs, small organisations and individuals.
The guides include event and activity ideas, venue suggestions, budgeting and sponsorship help, accessibility and inclusion
considerations, volunteer management help and more.
If you also have any feedback on the guides do let me know via email ([log in to unmask]),
as we are always keen to improve our digital resources.
We’ll be running an online social media campaign called
#iamabiologist on Friday 12th, so all biologists are invited to get involved with that too!
Thanks so much,
Philippa Skett AMRSB
