We require an enthusiastic and organised Graduate Trainee Library Assistant to deal with all aspects of library work within the Museum of English Rural Life and the Special Collections Service.

 

Duties include participating in the staffing of the reading room, promoting access to the library and Special Collections, assisting with the collation of statistics, processing acquisitions, cataloguing and collection management tasks. The candidate should possess good communication skills and be methodical and organised.

Good interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively and professionally with enquiries from researchers and work within the library team.

Basic computer skills, such as using a computer for word processing, accessing the internet or using email.

A good honours degree (first or second class) or equivalent.

Reliable and punctual as well as organised and attentive to detail.

Committed to following postgraduate course/career in library and information services work.
