Digital Privacy - half day workshop
18 September, London
Are you aware of the digital privacy tools that can help protect library users' privacy?
This practical half-day training workshop has been developed for CILIP, the library and information association, by Aude Charillon of Newcastle City Libraries. It will help you to become better informed about how the internet works and how it impacts on your online privacy. You will also gain knowledge of digital privacy tools which can help to protect your library or information service users' privacy.
By attending this workshop you will:

  * Have an understanding of how the issue of online privacy affects citizens using libraries and information services
  * Be aware of the ethical context for library and information professionals
  * Have practical experience of and will be able to recommend some basic digital privacy tools and practices
  * Know what steps to take to better protect the online privacy of citizens using library services.
It is ideal for library and information staff in any role and at any level wanting to understand their legal responsibilities and to learn some practical digital privacy tools. This session is particularly relevant for those working in public, school and academic libraries but we welcome delegates from across the library and information profession.
BOOK EARLY!<https://www.cilip.org.uk/page/DigitalPrivacy_Home?> Spaces are limited to 15 per session.
