Hi Jason
I agree with you entirely and when these resources went into Jorum I could see the value of building up collections of OERs. It was something the ILG considered doing, but decided Jorum was the place to host
resources. Since its demise it seems we are at risk of creating list of resources that are less discoverable. I’ve forwarded your email to my colleague as I think it’s something Learn Higher might want to consider. I would like to think that in the end technology
might solve this, but I’m often at a loss to know where to put OERs I want to share these days. If anyone has any insights then please share, but learning object repositories just don’t seem to have taken off in the way institutional repositories for research
papers have.
Jisc did a lot of work on interoperability as part of the OER programme several years ago, but I am just not sure what’s happening in the space now. I’m also aware that the open scholarship movement are definitely
much further ahead on this but if we want to encourage sharing and open education, then it’s definitely something that needs to be considered.

Hi Jane, how are the Learn Higher resources indexed by other tools? I’m all for OER, but it feels at times like we are building up separate repositories at the possible expense of discovery. Taking a leaf from
open scholarship, the FAIR principles, and the next generation repository model, is there a movement towards data interchange and platform interoperability for OER collections. I’m not sure if some of these aspects from part of NBK planning, but if not, should
they?

Forwarding on behalf of one of my colleagues, this looks like a great initiative and an opportunity to share our resources with learning developers.

Perhaps you have a great resource for teaching digital literacy, or a guide for students to assess and find relevant sources, or tackle referencing.
If so, we’d love to you to share it.
Your reward? Each resource submitted before 31st July 2018 will be entered into a prize draw to win a £40 voucher:
