The School of Pharmacy and Medical Science at the University of Bradford is looking for a dedicated individual to undertake the role of external examiner for our MSc Pharmaceutical Technology & Medicines Control programme to commence in September 2018.

 

This programme combines the study of pharmaceutical technology, including pharmaceutical sciences, and medicines control. It has been designed to enable the students to develop a comprehensive understanding and knowledge in the area of pharmaceutical formulation development and its underpinning science and processing technologies. Particularly notable features include theoretical and practical aspects of advanced analytical methods, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD).

The programme will also provide students with knowledge and understanding of quality assurance, drug regulations, drug licensing, drug testing, and safety and students will also gain knowledge and develop skills related to pharmaceutical supply chains and pharmacovigilance, including the safe and proper use of medicines.

 

An overview of your role and responsibilities includes:

 

Confirming the comparability of standards of student performance at University of Bradford with those of similar modules at other UK Institutions of Higher Education; confirming that the assessment process in its entirety is sound, and has been fairly conducted with full regard to justice to students; reporting and advising on the above by means of approving coursework and examination papers and providing an annual report to the University.

 

The appointee will be required to moderate a sample of work and you will also be required to produce an annual report and attend Boards of Examiners as appropriate. 

 

You should have relevant professional experience in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences/ pharmaceutics and a valid teaching qualification are essential.  You should be able to undertake a role in the assurance of academic standards in Higher Education and should be aware of modern developments in the design and delivery of the flexible curriculum.

 

You should not hold more than one other UK Higher Education External Examiner post at the start of the contract and be qualified to at least the level of the programme to be examined.

 

Due to the University’s conflict of interest criteria, we are unable to accept applications for this particular post from members of staff at the following institution:
