We are looking for an outstanding Research Assistant/Associate with
expertise in machine learning for activity recognition and behaviour
analysis. You will develop activity recognition techniques for automatic
behaviour analysis in livestock both at group and individual level with
the aim of early detection of health and wellbeing challenges (e.g.,
disease outbreaks) through recognition of changes in behaviour. You will
work jointly within the Interdisciplinary Computing and Complex
BioSystems (ICOS) Research Group at the School of Computing and the
Animal Research Group at the School of Natural and Environmental
Sciences. You will have access to the recently opened, state of the art
Centre for Digital Innovation Applied to Livestock.

You will have a PhD (or be near completion) related to machine learning
with focus on image analysis and more specifically in activity
recognition, and an outstanding publication track record in
internationally leading venues.

This post is funded from two related EU-funded research projects,
Feed-a-Gene and HealthyLivestock. Since the research conducted will be a
collaboration with partners from academic and industry from across
