Archives in Museums: Unlocking the Potential
Aerospace Bristol, 11 October

SWFed Autumn Forum 2018
________________________________

This special event will provide a unique opportunity to gain advice, ideas and practical solutions for a range of issues relating to unlocking the potential of archives in museums and heritage sites.

Through a range of talks and workshops, you will gain practical tips to be able to maximise the opportunities that archives can bring to museums and heritage sites. Topics will cover how archives can be used to engage with a wide range of people, how you can make the most of them in exhibitions, and how you can use them with your collections. As usual, there will be opportunities to network and to learn in groups.

Who should attend

  * Anyone working or volunteering in a heritage orgainisation (of any size) which has an archive or could use the archive of another organisation
  * People taking their first steps into (or interested in) using archives within the work of their museum of heritage site who want to find out what opportunities there are
  * More experienced people looking to refresh their knowledge-base or discover new ways they can use archives

Our Spring Forum became fully booked within three weeks, so book early to avoid disappointment.

"I'm really excited about this forum. There is a wide range of ways in which archives can be used, by heritage organisations of any size. This event will help people understand how they can use them to their best potential."
- Theo Platt, Meetings Secretary, South West Fed
