Dear Colleagues, We will be teaching a one-week course at MIT this summer: Modeling and Simulation of Transportation Networks, July 23 - 27, 2018 <http://professional.mit.edu/programs/short-programs/modeling-simulation-tra nsportation-networks> http://professional.mit.edu/programs/short-programs/modeling-simulation-tran sportation-networks Modeling and simulation methods are essential elements in the design and operation of transportation systems. We are witnessing a proliferation of interest in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Smart Mobility in all levels of government and industry. Transportation researchers have developed models and simulators for use in the planning, design, and operations of such systems. This course draws heavily on the results of recent research and is sponsored by the ITS Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The course is intended for individuals seeking the in-depth knowledge of the theory, research, and practice of these methods that is necessary for reliable and credible applications. It combines mathematical presentation with intuitive interpretation, and theory with real-world case studies. Partial (50%) tuition scholarships are available for junior faculty, postdocs, and doctoral students. We would appreciate your help in making people aware of this unique opportunity to study modeling and simulation of transportation networks this summer at MIT.
