Dear All,
I look after the academic development of a very mixed staff group in terms of nationality. Recently, while hearing a Spanish staff member trying to get her head around Biggs’ definition of
constructive alignment, I wondered if there were any text books or websites relating to basic concepts of learning and teaching in HE in other languages which I could recommend to help those who are struggling with a new discipline in a second language.
If anyone has any good suggestions, I would happily collate these and circulate to the list.
The most common nationalities/languages amongst our staff are Spanish, Italian, Greek, Persian and French. We also have a lot of Indian, Chinese and Pakistani staff although I don’t know the
first language spoken for those groups.
Best wishes,
Tracey
