This introductory event is aimed at anyone who has an interest in the records of voluntary organisations, particularly staff, trustees or volunteers with responsibility for the organisational records and archives. In this session you will learn about basic concepts in records management and work through some exercises designed to help you improve your record keeping. We will look at what policies you might need in place and some practical tips for keeping paper and digital records safe, while complying with relevant regulations such as GDPR. Charlotte Clements is the author of Records Management in Charities: A Toolkit for Improvement (2017). Melissa Williams, Conservator, The Keep This session will cover top tips on safeguarding your records; care and conservation. Melissa will provide advice and guidance on archive handling, basic cleaning and storage of material, along with information on recommended suppliers of resources. Veronique Poutrel, External Funding Manager, East Sussex County Council This workshop will introduce you to a range of funding opportunities available, along with practical advice and guidance.
