Dear all,

Here are the details about a new post available at Bath Spa University.

Job title: Research Publications Librarian
Salary:  £26,495.00 - £36,613 per annum depending upon experience
Contract type: Full time, FTC to 31 December 2020
Department: Library & Learning Services

Closing date: Monday 9th July

About the role

Alongside our existing Research Publications Librarian, you will share responsibility for the development and promotion of two open research repositories, ResearchSPAce and BathSPAdata. You will support the University's research strategy, including the submission of research outputs for the REF2021 (Research Excellence Framework) exercise. You will help your academic colleagues meet the growing number of data-related funding requirements, with a specific responsibility for data management of the D4D project, a major research project into disability and community. Research data management is a new area of specialist support for the Library, and you will need to work with appropriate stakeholders to establish training, technical standards, ethical and legal compliance. The role is primarily based at Corsham Court, the University campus for postgraduate study and research. The postholder will sometimes be required to work at the other University campuses.

About you (requirements)

You'll have a qualification in library / information management and professional accreditation. You must have excellent IT skills:- a quick learner of specialist IT systems, able to analyse and manipulate data from a range of different disciplines, including the arts and social sciences. Alongside your technical skills, we need someone who can communicate and engage with our academic researchers, helping the University's academic community to manage its data and research outputs. Knowledge of the Higher Education research environment, and of the legal / ethical standards around open research, would be advantageous.  We will provide training opportunities for you to further enhance your specialist knowledge.
