Dear colleagues
Two quick updates on Henry Sweet Society news:

1. Reminder: Vivien Law prize (£200) for the best essay submitted in the History of Linguistics. The competition is open to all currently registered students, and to scholars who have received their PhD or equivalent qualification within the last five years. Applications from non-members are welcome. Deadline September 30th. Full details here: http://www.henrysweet.org/grants-and-prizes/vivien-law-prize/ - please do spread the word.

2. Language & History. You will have noticed that Issue 3 of the journal for 2017 (Vol. 60.3) has yet to see the light of day. Many apologies. The good news is that it is imminent, and then when it arrives, it will also be followed almost instantly by issues 1-2 of 2018 (Vol. 60.1-2, a special issue on writing systems). The reasons for this are complicated, but please bear with us. We will then be on track again and normal service will resume!
Very best wishes to all colleagues for the summer, and looking forward to seeing many of you in Maynooth at our colloquium. Don't forget to register here: http://www.henrysweet.org/news/registration-colloquium-2018/
