Job Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Hertford
Salary Range: £26,470 pa progressing to £29,095 pa (Also Career Grade Scheme with potential to rise to £38,052 pa) 
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:
The Mapping & GIS Service are responsible for the management of the HCC Corporate GIS infrastructure for use by staff, partners and the public. The challenges set by the HCC GIS Strategy are to:
•Better inform service development and delivery to optimise outcomes for service users
•Enable GIS “self-service”
•Establish a centre of GIS expertise
•Improve resilience and efficiency
•Provide the most appropriate tools to service users
•Ensure the authority is able to take advantage of rapidly evolving GIS technology developments

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the unit to support the development and ongoing management of the Hertfordshire County Council Enterprise deployment of the ESRI suite, including application support (desktop and web), web services, spatial datasets and spatial analysis.

The successful candidate should be experienced in ArcGIS desktop software. They will also have some experience of maintaining geospatial datasets in relational databases. Ideally, they will have studied GIS or a related subject, to a degree level, as well as having some web development skills. The successful candidate will be organised, fast working but with a high degree of accuracy. They will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional.
