Master’s Studentship at the Institute for German Studies, University of Birmingham
The Institute for German Studies (IGS) at the University of Birmingham invites applications for a Master’s studentship, which carries a stipend of
£5,000 towards the cost of fees or maintenance of a Master’s degree focusing on contemporary German Studies.
The deadline for applications is 30th June 2018.
The successful candidate will complete a Master’s degree in one of the following Modern Languages or Political Science programmes,
with a dissertation on a contemporary German Studies topic:
MA by Research in German
Studies
MRes Sexuality and Gender Studies
The studentship will commence in October 2018 and continue for one year.
Supervision will be provided by the most appropriate members of the IGS research team.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the organisation of two PGR-focused IGS events during the academic year 2018-19.
The successful candidate will hold a good BA or equivalent in a relevant topic and meet all other entry requirements for our Master’s programmes. Applicants will be expected
to possess a good knowledge of German (B2 or above in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
