Hi,

The blue boxes show areas where there is distortion and the yellow boxes show areas where there is noticeable signal loss (usually accompanied by some distortion too).  In both cases you see the case before and after distortion correction (different rows).  The point of the different boxes is that in the yellow box the signal loss cannot be corrected for, and so even after distortion correction there are obvious mismatches with the anatomy.  This is to emphasize the point that signal loss cannot be corrected for after the acquisition, since signal which is lost in acquisition cannot be recovered.
