Hi,

We use both but when we have teaching staff its always a nightmare.  They do 1 hour slots in their free peroids but it doesn't work very well.  They dont want to do it and that comes across for alot of them.  They constantly turn up late or don't read notes I've left for them explaining whats going on etc.

Subject: Do you use teaching staff as invigilators for all exams

Hi

We currently employ external invigilators for the majority of our exams, due to budget constraints within F.E. colleges  we may be moving towards teaching staff to cover all our exams.

We  as exam staff feel that this will be a nightmare .

Do you use teaching staff at your college, if so how has it worked out, do they turn up in good time, past experience has been very last minute etc.

If you have a 3 hour exam , do they tend to swap over due to their teaching timetables.

How do you manage to organise teaching staff as invigilators if you hold exams off site and external venue’s, 30 miles away?
