Funding opportunity for those in Yorkshire, via Go Higher West Yorkshire... for a project focusing on young ESOL students' access to HE perhaps?

Leeds Community Foundation and Go Higher West Yorkshire are pleased to offer a new funding programme to community organisations across Bradford & Calderdale, Leeds and Wakefield.

This is an opportunity for community projects to access a range of grants from £1000 to £15,000 to help increase the number of young people aged 13-19 progressing into Higher Education from targeted areas across West Yorkshire.

The deadline for applications is noon on Thursday 28th JuneWe aim to inform successful applicants during w/c 6th August 2018. Monies need to be spent before 31st December 2018.

Briefing sessions: how to apply

 

We will be hosting 3 briefing sessions for people who want to learn more about the programme in Bradford & Calderdale, Leeds and Wakefield. You need to register to attend these events:

Wakefield: 12th June 2018, 1.30pm-3.00pm  Book to attend
Bradford & Calderdale: 13th June 2018, 2.00pm-3.30pm  Book to attend
Leeds: 14th June 2018, 10.00am-11.30am  Book to attend

Criteria

 

Activity needs to be aimed towards young people aged 13-19, their parents, carers, family members or key influencers and support:

  • Young people to make informed choices about their next steps in education
  • Their parents, family or carers to better help them to do this
  • Activity that develops confidence and resilience, opportunities in the world of work, one-to-one attainment raising activity, contextualises subject knowledge or skills development opportunities. 

Funding activity must also primarily support local people located within 27 target wards.
