try to use npt to equilibrate when you add the field, nve will not take you very far

check the units of the field applied.

use
scale 7
regauss 11

use dl_poly_4

consider using

variable timestep 0.001
rather than simple timestep

Alin

Hi,

I tried to use extern command to induce external electric field. I have attached files of an equilibrated system. Please give a suggestion.

Thanks,

hi Sheikh,

in the field file before the close keyword add the following

extern
electric 10.0 0.0 0.0

check the manual page 176 for details.

Alin
