Thanks Wayne,

That did fix the problem. I was trying with versions that were too old then.

Best regards,
Andras

Hello,

There are two different types of version information.  One is for the program (e.g. Analysis 2.0.7).  One is for the data model (e.g. 2.0.b3).  That error message is mentioning version numbers for the data model.  In general, a project is stored in multiple XML files, and each of those is tagged with the data model at the time it is saved.  The 2.0.5 data model was in Analysis v2.2.2 (and possibly some other Analysis 2.2.* versions), and the 2.0.b3 data model was in Analysis 2.1.2 (and possibly some other Analysis 2.1.* versions).  So it looks like there is at least one XML file that was saved in Analysis 2.2.  Do you have a copy of Analysis 2.2 (or newer; if not, there are still pre-compiled copies available on the CCPN website, at http://www2.ccpn.ac.uk/download/ccpnmr/).

Dear CcpNmr community,

I am trying to open an old ccpnmr project and keep getting the following error message:

Could not import memops.format.compatibility.downgrade.v_2_0_5
Forwards compatibility from 2.0.5 to 2.0.b3 missing.
Trying to load new-version data with old-version code?

Looking for old ccpnmr downloads I could only find downloads down to 2.0.7, but not to 2.0.5 or 2.0.b3.
2.0.7 does not seem to be willing to open the project.
I am also a bit surprised, because I don't think that the ccpnmr version that I used for this project was really that old - but I could be wrong about that.
I was working on this with a fairly up-to-date version in 2012.

Did anyone have this experience and does anyone maybe have some advice to offer on how to open my old project?

Thanks a lot,
Andras Boeszoermenyi
