Dear Michael,

Thank you for your message, for your kind words and for sharing your own presentation. I had liked your presentation and was impressed by it. You manged to cover so well the history of Nepal in 15 minutes, capturing all the major developments and sharing your own insights into these development. We now are pleased to have the text of your presentation. It may be a good idea to publish it in EBHR or other outlets so that a wider body of readers can benefit from such a nutshell of Nepal’s history.

With kind regards,

Surya

Dear Surya, dear friends and colleagues

Many thanks Surya for the link to the text of your speech, and many congratulations once again on your appointment as QC.

I also made a short presentation at the embassy's Republic Day programme on 29 May, the text of which is attached for anyone who is interested.

While I agree that the successful conclusion of the elections and the establishment of the new federal structure are achievements that deserve to be applauded, I think it is important also to record that there are still serious concerns about certain aspects of the new constitution and about the long delay in the provision of transitional justice.

Best wishes

Michael
