Dear friends and colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the launch of the website and database for Leverhulme Trust funded, University of Glasgow initiative 'Runaway Slaves in Eighteenth Century Britain'.

Our runaway advertisement database contains well over 800 examples of enslaved and bound labourers who attempted to escape their situation, and we have over seventy 'For Sale' notices of African, African American and Indian men, women and children on British shores.

Please visit our website www.runaways.gla.ac.uk for more information.

Kind regards,

Nelson
