Dear Martin,

What a tragic loss!!! I am lost for words.

I saw Doug about a year or two ago visiting WHO Geneva and seeing him was always  reassuring that “the best of statistics” is graciously there serving the world over.

He taught us well giving us the sense and sensibility of statistics in every area of health research.

I will miss him greatly.
