Applications are invited for the following full-time permanent position:

Records and Archives Assistant
Salary: £21,866.00 - £25,400.00 Per Annum
Location: Blythe House, West Kensington

The V&A is Britain’s national museum of art and design, and is one of the greatest museums of decorative arts in the world. The V&A’s purpose is to enable everyone to enjoy its collections and explore the cultures that created them; and to inspire those who shape contemporary design.

We are seeking a Records and Archives Assistant who will work in the V&A Archive and Registry, part of the Word and Image Department. You will contribute to the management of the Museum’s institutional records and archives, working with both paper-based and electronic information. Tasks will include documentation, appraisal and disposal of records, and the physical management of paper-based records and archives. The role is also public-facing and you will help to provide information and records retrieval services for V&A staff, and public access services for the V&A’s institutional records and archives.

The successful candidates will have a first degree, and experience in information-handling and general administration. As well as good IT and communication skills, we will be seeking a demonstrable interest in record-keeping and archives as a career.

The post is based at Blythe House, although occasional attendance at the Museum’s main site in South Kensington may also be required.

To apply, and for full job description, please visit the V&A’s website at www.vam.ac.uk/jobs.
