Change is the New Norm: 'Succeeding Through Change' for Operational Managers [TG4/CHANGE]

11 June 2018

Change has become the norm for most librarians; whether driven by a new role, a new build, restructuring, cost-savings or the changing vision of a new departmental head it can be both exhilarating and exhausting.  It is important in these times of change to know how to develop your own resilience and that of those you support.

SLA Conference 2018: Projecting Your Value [TG4/SLA18]

21 June 2018

This event will help staff to consider how opportunities for personal and career development are not necessarily limited to progression, but may develop through taking part in projects or initiatives. This will be a highly participative day with plenty of opportunities for networking – enabling attendees to share their experience and best practice.

The Role of the Library in Supporting Research [TG3/ResearchSupp]

28 June 2018

Research support is a complex area. This event will cover the key areas of focus for a research services team, including establishing a library research support team, how the library contributes to researcher development, writing Open Access and Research Data policies and developing a library research support strategy.

Planning and Delivering Library Inductions [TG3/Inductions]

13 July 2018

Library inductions are an important part of welcoming students to the university and introducing them to the ways in which the library service can support their learning. New technologies have enabled innovative approaches to the induction process.

This event seeks to cover everything from planning to the inductions themselves.
