Hi,

Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join the Clinical Evidence Based Information Service (CEBIS), who are part of Library and Knowledge Services at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).

We are advertising the two following CEBIS Specialist posts:
•Post 1 is a permanent 22.5 hours per week (0.6 WTE) position.
•Post 2 is a 12 month, fixed term 37.5 hours per week (1.0 WTE) position for maternity leave cover.

CEBIS Specialists work with a variety of UHCW teams to support decision making by providing the best available evidence in a timely manner. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and confidence to work effectively as an information professional embedded in the clinical setting. A flexible approach to the changing workload is required, as well as the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet service need.
CEBIS Specialists attend clinics, multi-disciplinary meetings, and ward rounds, providing targeted summaries in response to questions raised, and facilitating discussion of the best available evidence. Through established work within UHCW, CEBIS Specialists have developed specialist subject knowledge and built strong working relationships with clinicians. Clinicians have come to recognise the specialist information skills of the CEBIS team and the integral part they play in evidence based decision making within UHCW.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a nationally recognised model of excellence for NHS Library and Knowledge Services, with demonstrable impact on clinicians’ point-of-care decision making and the quality of care and research at UHCW.
The successful applicant will ideally have some NHS experience, but it’s more important to have the motivation, communication skills and understanding of evidence based practice to ensure the provision of the best available evidence, when and where it is needed.
Literature searching skills are essential, although these may not necessarily be in health or medical resources. A postgraduate or graduate qualification in librarianship/information studies and/or experience of working within a health environment are desirable.
