Hi Nathan,

We use LibCal here at Derby, very happy with it so far. We’ve haven’t really done much in the way of customisation, although we don’t use the LibCal homepage but direct students to the particular elements, i.e. appointments, events, room bookings. You can see the links on our library webpage (right-hand side, under the Book… heading) - https://www.derby.ac.uk/campus/library/

We’ve had very little feedback from students complaining about the system or struggling to use it. Our appointments and room booking stats went through the roof after we implemented it – 400% increase for subject librarian appointments, for example – so it seems to work! We do occasionally get issues with students booking in with the wrong person, but that’s about it.

Hi all,

I'd be interested to hear from colleagues who use LibCal as their room booking solution and, particularly, how you have approached customisation of the user front-end. It would be great to see some linked examples if possible.

Our current solution has some elements which are not very user-friendly and I am seeking some inspiration and information as to how this was implemented if possible please.

Best,
