With apologies for cross posting.

Information literacy and academic study skills; an informal discussion of the crossover and benefits of collaboration.

Wednesday 6th of June 1-4pm

Aston University Library

Teaching is increasingly a part of an academic librarian’s role and the crossover between information literacy and academic study skills can become blurred. The way in which this is organised in institutions differs greatly and one of the aims of this teachmeet is to explore the options and what works best. We will be hearing from;

•             Chris Martindale               (University of Derby)                                     “Enhance Your Learning”

•             Dr Helen Williams             (University of Wolverhampton)                “Skills for Researchers: Developing PGR Support at the University of Wolverhampton”

•             Dr Sarah Pittaway            (University of Worcester)                            “Mapping the learner journey”

•             Michael Stevenson         (Manchester University)                              “My Learning Essentials programme”

•             Jenny Coombs                  (De Montfort University)                             “Better together? Librarians and Learning Developers”

•             Suzanne Waugh               (University of Salford)                                   “Academic Skills – how we collaborate”

In addition we still require enthusiastic audience members that are willing to join in the discussion. It’s an informal event and there will be time for networking over tea, coffee and biscuits. You can book a place here;
