Aston University's Centre for Critical Inquiry into Society and Culture (CCISC) is pleased to invite you to a public talk by Professor Pamela Dickey Young on Tuesday 3rd July, 17.30, at Aston University, Birmingham

 

Professor Young’s talk is “What’s Religion Got to Do with It? How Young Adults in Canada make Decisions about ‘Premarital’ Sex”.

 

Professor Young is Professor of Religion at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada, and is an expert on religion, gender and sexuality. Her previous publications include Women and Religious Traditions (now in its third edition; Oxford University Press Canada; 2014 - with L. Anderson), Religion, Sex and Politics: Christian Churches and Same-Sex Marriage in Canada (Fernwood Publishing; 2012) and Feminist Theology/Christian Theology (Wipf and Stock Publishers; 2000). Professor Young’s latest work focuses on gender and sexuality in relation to youth, focusing on the attitudes and experiences of both religious and non-religious cohorts.

 

The event starts with a drinks reception at 17.30, followed by the public talk between 18.00 and 19.30. This will also include a Q+A.
