Liverpool John Moores University require an External Examiner required for LJMU collaborative programmes with a college in Shanghai, Sino-British College (SBC) who deliver our Industrial Electronics and Control Engineering degree, and also Manufacturing Systems Engineering .

It would be mainly the Industrial Electronics and Control (electrical modules) that need covering on the programmes (in green below)

 

Commitments  :

1/ moderate all assessment for your modules (coursework and exams). You will receive the exams and coursework in semester 1 and semester 2 well in advance of the exam periods. Then provide any feedback on assessment so any changes/recommendations can be implemented.

2/ moderate samples of student work after assessment periods (and prior to exam boards in June).

3/ attend Board of Examiners (BoE) at LJMU in June (possibly also August referral board if necessary).

4/ write external examiners report (after BoEs, (June)).

 

There are typically around 30 students at each level of both programmes (MSE and IEC) …as you can see you would be predominantly responsible for IEC.

 

The duration of appointment is 4 years ;  we would encourage you to visit the college if you can in the first year if possible (but this is not mandatory) ; payment currently £500 /yr on production of the Annual Report plus expenses.
