Hi,
I am blind myself and use a screen reader and absolutely love www.zoom.us platform
As far as I know it is the only platform for both 1 on 1 video calls and webinars that is fully accessible and the company is very responsive and even has made some changes when myself or other blind people have reported a small issue.
Their webinar platform is definitely the only one where a blind person can actually run and manage a webinar by themselves.
They have just brought in a feature of speech to text live while a presentation takes place but I’m not sure if translation is available or not.
Their audio/video quality is way superior to Skype particularly on low bandwidth connections.
With a Zoom conference you also get local phone numbers in countries around the world where people can join the webinar by phone if the internet doesn’t work for them.
Dale.

Subject: accessible web-based meeting and training platforms
Hi all, does anyone have experience with any accessible web-based meeting and training platforms? We have found many platforms for meetings and training, but little information on their accessibility to blind and other disabled users.
Additionally, has anyone seen any system where one can have an on line meeting with simultaneous interpretation from one language to another, e.g., English-spanish? Usually people do sequencial interpretation which is less accurate and also takes quite a long time.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
