The "musician" incidentally was Adorno, if that was missed. Apologies if so, I must be slow, as well as over sarcastic, on occasion.
What I'd rate about Adorno (my friend calls him S'Adorno; I nearly get the joke...) is that he really did seem, to me, to really offer a palliative for ugly / senseless conformity. Whatever sort of critic he is, and I also really like that he attaches that to music, that's worth something.
