* Apologies for cross-posting:

I would like to draw your attention to two new positions in the Conservation Unit at Senate House Library, University of London.

We are recruiting a Senior Conservator and a Conservator to join the Library at a particularly exciting and dynamic time. Senate House Library is the central library of the University of London and the School of Advanced Study, a hub for book history, in the heart of Bloomsbury, it facilitates and supports research excellence as well as public engagement programmes of exhibitions and events.

The Library is home to world-class Special Collections of manuscripts and archives, rare books and artwork, and the University of London archive.

These Special Collections embrace iconic treasures like Shakespeare’s First Folio or the 15th century Piers Plowman manuscript, as well as renowned collections like the Goldsmiths’ Library of Economic Literature, or the Ron Heisler Collection of radical political movements. In addition, the Library manages the archives and special collections of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, the Institute of Modern Languages Research and the Institute of Latin American Studies. This makes Senate House Library a national resource for the study of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The posts of Senior Conservator and Conservator will sit within the Special Collections and Engagement Team, and will deliver a programme of preventative preservation and conservation across the Library, and particularly across Special Collections.

The deadline for applications is 17th May and interviews are likely to take place at the end of May or early June. If you are interested in applying please follow the links below:
