2.7 Call for Papers: Special Session on Immersive Technologies and Learning. 10th Computer Science and Electronic Engineering Conference (CEEC´18), Colchester, UK, 19-21 Sept 2018

Researchers are invited to submit a full paper (5-6 pages) detailing their research, or a short paper (max 4 pages) describing their work-in-progress. The event focuses on the uses of Immersive Technologies (VR, AR, HMD, haptic devices, etc.,) for enhancing learning experiences, and fosters participation, collaboration, creativity and engagement. 2.8 Enhancing & Teaching in Management Education, Lancaster, 20 June 2018

This free TeachMeet event aims to create and facilitate a conversation around pressing issues faced by management school programmes and bring together key stakeholders to discuss, exchange, source and share good practices. 2.13 Call for Papers: Journal of Universal Computer Science,  Special Issue on "Immersive Learning Technologies: Research and Future Directions"

J.UCS (impact factor 0.696 (2016)) invites the submission of papers to this special issue. We look for original submissions on innovative research, technologies, and/or tools to foster learning, training and other activities in motivational and engaging ways using immersive technologies. 2.14 Survey: Attitudes towards digital culture and technology in the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

As part of the AHRC-funded (OWRI) ‘Language Acts & Worldmaking’ project, we are conducting a survey on attitudes towards digital culture and technology in the MFL, with attention to both theory and practice. We would be very interested to hear about your experiences and invite you to take part in our survey. The survey is aimed at people with any level of digital expertise, and whose work involves MFL in any role (whether that be as researcher, learner, teacher, funder, policy-maker, digital practitioner, cultural practitioner or other). We will analyse the survey results for future presentation and publication – all results will be anonymised- and will present initial findings in the coming year.

2.15 New book: Learning Technology: A Handbook for FE Teachers and Assessors #LTbookFE

Written by Daniel Scott, ALT Learning Technologist of the Year 2016, with a foreword by Geoff Rebbeck. 2.16 Call for survey participation: Sharing, impact and social media for academics

Part of the Society for Research in Higher Education Newer Researchers Award, this research project investigates the information that academics share on social media, and their perceptions of high impact interactions on the sites. The survey is open to anyone working in HE (including PhD students), and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.  The survey address is:
