The Emergency Response Department at Public Health England are seeking a Senior Mathematical Modeller.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Senior Mathematical Modeller to contribute to a wide and varied range of high priority projects within the Emergency Response Department at Public Health England (PHE). PHE provides strategic leadership and vision for protecting and improving the nation's health. The post is in the Science & Technology group within the Emergency Response Department (ERD S&T). The ERD S&T group is a multidisciplinary group that includes mathematical modellers, infectious disease biologists and epidemiologists, behavioural scientists, specialists in geographic information systems, and scientific computing. In partnership with others both within PHE and from outside, we collate data and information from across the world on new and emerging infectious disease threats including potential bioterrorist threats. This information is integrated with a wide range of other UK specific data in order to develop risk assessments and mathematical models and other IT/computer-based applications to assist with emergency planning, training and response functions. The successful applicant will have the ability to work well in a team with colleagues from a range of disciplines.
