Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Bio-statistics Graduate School of Health UTS has a bold vision to be a world-leading university of technology. The disciplines of Clinical Psychology and Orthoptics were added in 2015 and the discipline of Physiotherapy in 2017. The new disciplines to the School are Genetic Counselling and Speech Pathology, both of which have a planned commencement date of 2019. The School specialises in high quality graduate-entry master’s degrees and high impact research, with research focus is in the area of Primary Health Care and Drug Discovery and Development. About the role We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor with expertise in Bio-statistical / Epidemiological theory and practice to provide statistical support to the Graduate School of Health researchers, and our research and coursework postgraduate students. You will be on hand to provide advice on statistical aspects of clinical research, and statistical advice and guidance on data management for developing grant applications. You will deliver workshops on statistical methods to research staff and students and contribute to the development of a statistical/bio statistical consultation service that will provide support across the School. About you Your strong abilities to build relationships and positive rapport with a range of stakeholders will be key to this role as will your ability to convey statistical concepts to people with limited statistical knowledge. You will also bring: • A PhD in biostatistics, mathematics/statistics • Knowledge of bio-statistical/Epidemiological theory and practice; Demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of medical biostatistics in relation to clinical and health services research including analysis of clinical trials and longitudinal datasets • Excellent working knowledge of SAS, SPSS, R+ and Stata software • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for clinical trials and medical research • Experience in contributing to research and grant applications and a track record of publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles. Base Salary Range: Senior Lecturer (Level C): pro rata $123,991 - $138, 453 / Associate Professor (Level D): pro rata $149,355 - $159, 049 This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
